Brazilian Allan Calux is a photography enthusiast. He discovered the underground world in 1997 and has been investing his efforts in the protection and conservation of speleological heritage ever since. Bachelor in Geography (2003-2008) at the University of Campinas, M.Sc. in Physical Geography (2011-2013) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and Ph.D. in Geochemistry and Geotectonics by the University of São Paulo, he has been working for over 20 years in exploring, mapping and diagnosing Brazilian caves. He holds postgraduate courses in Karst Geology (2013) and Karst Hydrology (2015) at Western Kentucky University - USA. He is co-author of the books "Patrimônio Espeleológico em Rochas Ferruginosas" (Speleological Heritage in Ferruginous Rocks) and "Guia de Boas Práticas de Mineração em Áreas Cársticas" (Guide of Good Practices for Mining in Karst Areas).
